Candy Land

The 2000s version of the Candy Land board game was originally released in 2002 and re-released in 2004. It is infamous for redesigning all of the characters to be more child-friendly, while even completely removing some others (most notably Plumpy). It spawned a respectable amount of merchandise, including party favors, coloring books, and a movie.

However, it also gained a large amount of Criticism from fans of the 1980s-1990s version.

It remained prominent until late 2010, when it was superseded by a new version of Candy Land  which was designed in an attempt to stop criticisms towards this version of Candyland.
